Submission Policy

This policy sets out how manuscript submissions to InkStone Literary are handled, and what you can expect after sending your work.

What you can send

You may send a complete manuscript, a partial draft, a sample, an outline, or simply a description of what you are working on. There is no minimum standard of polish required.

How submissions are read

Submissions are read by our editorial team. We aim to respond to every enquiry, and we read the material ourselves rather than passing it to an automated system.

Confidentiality and rights

Your work remains yours. Submitting a manuscript grants InkStone Literary no rights over it, and your material is not shared outside the team without your permission.

What a response means

A response is an assessment of how we might help, and a proposal for work where relevant. It is not an offer of publication or literary representation.

Material we cannot accept

We do not accept work that infringes the rights of others, that has been produced in breach of an academic institution's rules, or that is unlawful.
